"Returned Mail" spam
All of a sudden, I seem to be getting an awful lot of spam bouncing back to me because my email address has been spoofed as the sender.
Is this a general trend that anyone else has noticed, or am I being targetted specifically by someone? I've certainly had it happen before, but not in anything like the volumes I'm seeing now.

I thought it was something I did
Just this Sunday morning alone I have had 40+ returned email messages. I wonder what is up?
spamtastic
About a year ago, I was getting a lot of this using my domain name and random stuff before the @. I put a block on addresses to my domain apart from email addresses I use - this killed most of it. But during that time I am sure my domain was added to spam filters - (I just felt so dirty and used) and you never know which legitimate messages have been lost during these times.
Good news is recently spam seems to have dropped dramatically, I guess this just comes in waves. By the way, how come we are still all using email?, isn't it about time it was replaced by some uber private key something; or just send Chuck Norris into that mafia place in Florida that produces 90% of all spam.
Interesting fact: under Chuck Norris's beard he doesn't have a chin, but in fact another fist.

Re: "Returned Mail" spam
This happened to me about 6 months ago. For a day or so I received hundreds of bounces. After that it tailed off and I received about another 50 over the next 2 weeks. All of them had been sent at around the same time but different mail issues with the original intended email addresses caused the different delays. I found the most annoying bounces are the replies from spam filters, would be nicer if they just dropped it.
